Marvin Gaye Comes Back to Life For NBA All-Star Game
Soul legend Marvin Gaye will be brought back to life in a special performance of the national anthem at this month's NBA All-Star game.
In 1983, Gaye wowed fans with a now-legendary funk and gospel infused version of The Star-Spangled Banner before the game when it last took place in Los Angeles.
And, as the annual game returns to the California city 21 years later, Gaye will be beamed to fans through a digitally enhanced video and re-mastered audio of the original performance to team up with his stunning 29-year-old daughter Nona for a collaboration next weekend.
Nona admits, "I'm nervous and exhilarated at the same time. I can't believe I'm going to sing with my daddy."
The "Matrix Reloaded" actress, who will be joined for by her six-year-old son Nolan for the anticipated performance, adds, "There will be three generations of my family together. I can't think of a better way to honor my father and his memory."
OMG!!! I can't WAIT to see this! I'm sure that this will be a special experience for both his daughter and fans.
