Arista Shake-Up Leaves TLC's Future UncertainTLC members Rozonda 'Chili' Thomas and Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins are questioning their future, following the departure of Arista Records boss Antonio 'LA' Reid.
Reid was reportedly dropped by BMG Records chairman Rolf Schmidt-Holtz on January 14 - and BMG's upcoming merger with Sony Music plus Arista's $100 million losses last year are thought to be the reason behind the cost-cutting exercise.
And the move has prompted "Waterfalls" singer Watkins to wonder about the fate of her planned solo album. The group was also set to release a greatest hits album this year, but Watkins admits she's unsure what the next step is.
She says, "Arista is in shambles and I don't know what we're doing."Awww, I hate this for them. As far as the "Greatest Hits" album, they don't need to make the fans wait any longer for it (although I already ordered my UK version with the dedications to Left Eye inside the cover). It's hard to believe that a record-breakin' girl group would have to go through so much drama. But it's good to see that they have stayed strong through everything.
