Ma$e Plans to Return to RapRapper-turned-pastor Mason 'Ma$e' Betha is planning a return to his hip-hop roots - five years after ditching music.
Ma$e received an honorary doctorate of theology from New York's St. Paul's Bible Institute in 2002 and now pastors the 1,500 strong S.A.N.E. Church International in Atlanta, Georgia.
But he's now in talks to reunite with former manager Cudda Love, who also founded Fo'Reel Entertainment - the label which houses rapper Nelly and his St. Lunatics collective.
While Ma$e may return and end up with Fo'Reel, he is still under contract to Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment.
Fo'Reel is reportedly attempting to structure a deal with Bad Boy that will allow Ma$e to record his new untitled album.
If the disc is released, it will be a hip-hop album touching on relevant social issues - and featuring no profanity.
Singer DJ Rogers Jr., a member of S.A.N.E. Church International, tells entertainment news website EURWEB, "God has definitely been dealing with Pastor Betha about doing some things. And I can tell you that what he is doing is not for the church, it's for the gentiles, because the people in church already know."I used to love me some Ma$e back in the day! ;D I'm glad to see that he's gonna do somethin' positive with his words this time around though. But it's weird when I go to visit my gran'ma sometimes and she's watchin' his show on TBN--lol. He be bringin' the Word though....gotta hand that to him, and he and his wife are so cute togetha.

I was on another message board (which is a Christian one) and they were discussing this. One person said that he knew somebody that went to his church and he said as far as he knew, this wasn't true. But more power to him. I read that he dissed gospel/christian rap, and I don't think it's right. Especially since he is a pastor, I know at least one song will have God or Jesus in it!! I liked Ma$e back in the day too. We'll see how it turns out!!!! I'll try to find out some info.

Thankx in advance about further info on this because I'd surely like to know. Speakin' of gospel/christian rap...earlier this evenin' when I was on my way home it was announced on the radio about Duke University holdin' some type of Hip Hop summit this weekend on their campus and they're gonna have some national recordin' artists that will perform. They didn't say who, but when they were speakin' about the Christian rap segment, they mentioned that The Cross Movement would be performin'. I immediately thought about you. I juss wish they would announce things like this weeks in advance instead of at the last minute. I HATE when they do that.

Oh man!!!! Thanks for the info! I wish I could go....the crossmovement has a record label and one of their artist is having a cd release concert in Philly on April 10. I was supposed to go, but my sister's church is having a play and she and another friend of ours, work on the television ministry and they have to be there to record!!! We were looking forward to going, I kinda hope they push the play back, but I'll be there because I heard it'll be interesting. The title of the play is "Anatomy of a black man who raised himself and the women who love them!" Pretty interesting!!!!

However, where I live, we don't really have too many plays like this come to our area. Most of the time, if we wanna check out a good play we have to drive an hour or more to see it. Some of them be worth it and some of 'em don't, but ah well... Anyway, I hope yall have a good time seein' it.

Where do ya live? Maybe I can send you some of the plays the church has. It's my sister's church and the pastor does plays. He travels too. I know he just did a play and some people are trying to sponsor it, but this play is new....
