Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who teamed up in the casino heist caper "Ocean's Eleven" and gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom "The Bernie Mac Show," died Saturday at age 50.
"Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.
She said no other details were available and asked that his family's privacy be respected.
The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.more info from hereI just found this out a couple of minutes ago. I'm so shocked. Yesterday, I was just watching a rerun of his show. He was only 50 years old. I can't believe it. He was so funny and will surely be missed.

First off, hi everyone. Secondly i hate to come up here under these circumstances since i'm still without a puter and still workin' hard and too tired to sign in when i do get a chance to use my sis' puter, but i had to say my piece regardin' Mr. Mac. my sis woke me up this mornin' and broke the bad news to me and my heart juss dropped. i called my mommy and we discussed all our favorite lines, movies, and shows that he has said or done for almost 2 hours. talk about a true king of comedy! may his soul be blessed.

And now we've lost Issac Hayes today. He was found unresponsive in his home next to a running treadmill. CPR was administered but he was pronounced dead an hour later.
