Appreciation

I wrote this after my soul mate told me that we should just be friends despite the love between us and I had to find a way to let out the hurt because I know that he loves me and he wants a future with me.


Sometimes when the doorbell rings I hope it’s you
Making one of your surprise visits, you know, like you used to
Just to see what’s going on with me
That always brings me a sense of peace
That smile of yours is sunshine in darkness
Something wonderful that I’ve never had to part with
To look into your eyes and see those feelings unsaid
And you’d hold me in your arms taking all doubt from my head
Letting me know that your heart still is for me a peaceful bed

The spiritual bond we have is one of storybooks and love novels
The kind that everyone wishes on and try to find all their lives
I know that in all our ups and downs and ins and outs
The constance of your dedication to me is one of ultimate appreciation
I know that you don’t have to be here to see me through my hells and my pains
I appreciate you for your godly presence for all the comfort it brings

You are the honesty that the world needs
The compassion that saves lost beings
The etheric that walks with me
The man that all others should follow his lead

You brought back to my life sweet poetry
Love song and soul mate…these things finally have meaning
The word friendship took it’s true form in you for me
Irreplaceable, untouchable, incomparable, by all means
You may say I give too much credit…I’m just praising what I see
I appreciate you, my friend…my soul mate…my never ending.

that was so heartfelt and compassionate bearing all truth and pain and joy...
i like how even tho he wants to be friends,u still note him for what he has given u and how u know that he still loves ya and even in his heart he disagrees with that decision....

it's hard but i'm dealing with it the best I can. It didn't make me feel better because i can't ever give it to him. he'll think that he's hurting me when i really do understand why he did this. he's scared of being hurt because is wife of 6 years cheated with his best friend their whole marriage. when we started getting closer...well you know how it goes. But i'll be okay...he's still my best friend.
