As we all know, On Thursday June 25th, Michael Jackson was found not breathing in his home which was believed to be cause by a cardiac arrest. He was immediately taken to a hospital where her was later pronounced dead. He was only 50 years old. The whole world seemed to be devastated that day. Michael Jackson leaves us with decades of timeless music and dance moves that will always be imitated. He was a humanitarian, helping people all over the world. He will truly be missed but is remembered through his legacy. On July 13, Michael Jackson was suppose to be doing a series of 50 concerts in London. It was called the THIS IS IT tour. Within a matter of about 2 hours 750,000 tickets were sold out. He continues to break records by being the fast selling out artist of all time. Your thoughts? Well...Michael Jackson is my favorite artist. I have collected a lot of his albums, Jackson 5/ The Jacksons albums, and dvds/vhs from back in the day. No other entertainer has been able to make make spend so much money trying collect everything they have done! I strongly believe he was the greatest entertainer of all time. When I found out the news I cried. I got many calls and texts because my friends knew that I was a big fan. One thing that I was truly upset at is how the media is continue to dog him. The day he passed they're talking about his past charges, his debt, and all this other bad stuff. On the BET awards I think Jamie Foxx said it best "Don't let the media control your opinion about someone" or something like that. I remember my brother saying when Michael Jackson passes that's gonna be the biggest thing ever. MJ still continues to make headlines and be the talk of the day. I cannot get enough of his music and will hopefully tell my kids and grand kids about his legacy

Wow...I'm still in shock which is why I'm just now able to post my thoughts on Michael because it's crazy to say but I'm still sittin' here in denial not wantin' to face the fact that he's actually gone. Anyway, I've been a fan of this man since the age of 2 accordin' to my parents. They have told stories in the past of how as soon as he and his brothers came on tv whether it was the cartoon or whatever show they'd be performing on, I'd stop whatever it was that I was into and would sit silently in front of the tv or if they put on one of his 45 records I'd start dancin' (especially "Dancing Machine"--lol). Anyhoo, I actually remember the first time I KNEW who Michael Jackson was when I was about 6 and my daddy bought Michael's "Off the Wall" album and I was in love; so much so that the fold-out album cover was the first poster I remember hanging up near my room as my daddy hung it up at the end of our hallway--lol! From there the rest as they say is history! I STILL have my Michael Jackson record player that I took from my parents' house to my house last weekend as well as my "Bad" album (I already had my other MJ albums, CDs, and cassettes at home). And I also remember havin' the MJ purse, earrings, t-shirts, buttons, poster, jacket, glove, puzzle, different paperback books, stickers, and bubblegum cards growin' up; the only thing I didn't have was the doll which I plan to win very shortly on eBay--lol. I'm not even embarrassed to say that this past Tuesday was the first day I don't think that I've cried anymore since hearin' the news about his passing. I still remember what I had on the day I heard the news nearly two weeks ago and I remember clockin' in at my part-time job when my manager's daughter called and told her the news and then she told us. Plus I rec'd quite a few text messages and voicemails from my fam and friends tellin' me the news which I can't bring myself to erase right now. Oh yeah and I've already purchased four t-shirts this past week; I'm still waitin' on the 2 I won from eBay to arrive. I plan to pass my record player, shirts and MJ music on to my kids or nieces/nephews if I ever have any in order to carry Michael's music legacy on through them because there will never EVER EVER EVER be another one like him!

Today all over the world people watched Michael Jackson's Memorial Service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Along with The Jackson family and MJ fans were many of Micheal's closest friends. Those who spoke at the memorial were Queen Latifah, Brook Shields, Berry Gordy, Martin and Bernice King, Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant, Smokie Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Pastor Lucions Smith etc. Performances were by Lionel Richie, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Shaheen Jafargholi (Britain's Got Talent) and of course Jermaine Jackson etc It was a very emotional event event. Together the audience reminisced, laughed, and cried. This is something I will definitely never forget. It's amazing that the King of Pop can be gone and still sell out events. While watching this, I cried and teared up during the entire event. But when Marlon Jackson and MJ's daughter, Paris Jackson, spoke I was in tears. I tried to hold back but you can't when you see people who were truly closest to him break down. I got my reality check that Michael Jackson was actually dead when I saw his brothers carrying his casket. It finally hit me. One of my fave quotes is when Al Sharpton said "Your daddy wasn't strange — what he had to deal with was strange."What are your thoughts???
