Adina Howard, best known for her 1995 platinum banger “Freak Like Me,” is named in a $10 million lawsuit by record label Rufftown Records, who is reportedly unhappy with the poor sales performance of her recent album “Second Coming,” released through the label. "I have no idea why they are suing me and that is why I am not stressing it," says Howard, who blames the album’s lackluster sales on a lack of promotion by Rufftown, headed by singer Rene Moore of Rene & Angela fame. Howard is currently working on her new album to be released through her own Maybach label. For more info on the album, visit her Web site at www.adinahowardonline.com.Now how dumb is it that the label is gonna sue the artist for not sellin' more albums when it's like Adina said it was from poor promotion; speakin' of which, her CD was surprisingly decent which is why I don't get why it wasn't promoted more. Anyhoo, hopefully, things will turn out in her favor and she can go on to bigger and betta things with her own label.
